Our material story
Kenya Builders began as one small quarry. The material we mine still decides what we can make, and that is still the shortest description of the company.
Where we come from
The record as the company tells it. Where a date is not known it is left blank rather than estimated.
The company starts by mining and supplying aggregates from a single site — the material that goes into everything it would later make.
One quarry becomes several, alongside production sites, extending what the business can supply across building and infrastructure work.
The range broadens past aggregates into precast concrete and civil works, and production scales beyond the original quarry operations.
Ballast and concrete pipes into one of the largest road projects the country had built.
Ballast into the structural concrete, with masonry and paving blocks through the driveways and pathways.
Ballast, paving blocks and Eurocon tiles — the first project where all three group companies appear in one building.
High-quality ballast and paving blocks supplied across the length of the project.
Investment moves to plant, quality control and process reliability — the reason one delivery matches the last.

Purpose & values
Five values, and they spell what we are trying to be. They are the client’s own words, not a rewrite.
Responsibility
Two things sit under this heading: how people are kept safe inside the operation, and what the group does outside it.
01 — Training
Safety inductions for employees, contractors and visitors, then toolbox talks, task-specific training and refreshers — reviewed for whether they are working.
02 — Protection
Helmets, boots, high-visibility clothing, gloves, eye, face and hearing protection — issued against the risks actually present and checked by routine inspection.
03 — Hazards
Routine inspections, job safety analyses, consultation and incident investigation. Controlled by the hierarchy of controls — elimination and engineering first, PPE last.
04 — Emergency
Documented procedures for fire, medical emergencies, spills and equipment failure. Marked exits, assembly points, trained response teams, drills, and an in-house medical station.
Where the group has put its weight behind something outside the gate — a COVID-19 community relief initiative, and support for the Swaminarayan School in Embakasi.
Both initiatives were filmed. The footage is not published here yet.

Corporate profile
Certification
Three management systems, certified by AceQu and carrying certificate numbers you can verify with the issuing body rather than take on trust.
ISO 9001:2015
Quality management
Cert. QMS11028 · AceQu
The ballast or block you order today is made to the same specification as the one you ordered last year, and the process that guarantees it is audited.
ISO 14001:2015
Environmental management
Cert. EMS11030 · AceQu
Quarrying and production run against an audited environmental management system — relevant to any project carrying its own environmental conditions.
ISO 45001:2018
Occupational health & safety
Cert. OHS11029 · AceQu
Site and plant safety is managed to an audited standard, which main contractors are increasingly required to evidence from their suppliers.
Product standards
Products are manufactured and tested against Kenya Bureau of Standards specifications, and the ranges that carry the Standardisation Mark hold their own permits. If a tender, consultant or QA pack needs the certificates or the mark permits for a specific product, ask and we will send the current documents.
Part of a wider material group
Our group companies bring complementary material knowledge across concrete and finishing categories. A project that needs more than one of them is still one conversation.
